Security System Installation in Tulsa, OK

Cameras, access control, and alarms designed on a site walk, installed by a licensed Tulsa crew, and supported afterward.

What a Professional Installation Actually Gets You

A security system installation in Tulsa from Tulsa Surveillance Technologies starts with a free site walk and ends with a system you know how to use, installed by the same crew that designed it. We are a locally owned, Oklahoma licensed installer (AC440731) working across the Tulsa metro, and the Google Business Profile that lists us as a security system installation service carries a 5.0 rating from 41 reviews.

The reason to hire an installer rather than hang cameras yourself is not the ladder work. It is placement, cabling, and configuration. A camera that is six feet too high captures the top of a head instead of a face. A cable run that is not secured becomes a trip hazard or a chewed wire. A recorder left at factory settings overwrites the footage you need before you know you need it. An installation done right solves all three before the first clip is recorded, and the camera map makes the plan visible before any of it is mounted.

This page covers how an installation runs from the first call to the last test, what the three families of equipment do, and where to go next: security camera installation, access control, and alarm systems each have their own page.

The Crew

The People Who Walk the Property Install the System

Our technicians live in the Tulsa metro and work out of the shop at 9433 E 51st St. The person who draws your camera map is the person who mounts the cameras, and the person who answers a service call two years later knows the building because they wired it.

  • Oklahoma Alarm License No. AC440731
  • Liability insurance carried
  • No subcontracted crews
  • Mobile access tested on your phone before we leave

How an Installation Runs

The job has five steps, and the first two cost nothing. You call or send the form and a technician calls back the same business day to ask what you need to see, who needs to get in, and what has gone wrong before. Then we walk the property. On the walk we look at entry points, sight lines, lighting at night, where the existing wiring runs, where the recorder or controller can live, and how people actually move through the space.

From the walk comes the camera map: a drawing of your property with every camera position numbered, a coverage cone for each, and notes on mounting height and cable path. The written quote is tied to the map line by line. You keep the drawing whether or not you hire us.

Installation is the fourth step. Cable is pulled and secured, cameras and readers are mounted and aimed, the recorder or cloud platform is configured, and retention is set to the number of days in the quote. The last step is the one most installers skip: we set up remote viewing on your phone, test it with you standing there, and show you how to pull and export a clip. A system nobody can use is not a security system.

The Three Families of Equipment

Most Tulsa properties end up with some mix of cameras, access control, and intrusion detection, and the three work better together than apart. A door reader that logs who badged in is more useful when a camera shows who walked through behind them, and an alarm that sends a clip with the alert is one you can act on instead of ignore.

Security Cameras

IP cameras from Axis, Hanwha, Digital Watchdog, Uniview, and Hikvision, in dome, turret, bullet, and PTZ form, recording to a network video recorder or to a cloud platform such as Eagle Eye. Analog systems are supported on takeovers. Placement is decided on the walk, retention is sized to how you use footage, and every system gets mobile access. The camera installation page goes deeper, and the camera types page explains which housing goes where.

Access Control

Card, fob, keypad, and mobile credentials on platforms such as Brivo, with schedules, remote unlock, lockdown, and an audit trail of who opened which door and when. For an apartment community or a church with volunteers, access control ends the rekeying cycle every time a key walks off. See access control installation.

Alarm Systems

Door, window, motion, and glass break sensors on Qolsys and ELK panels, with alerts routed to the right person and video attached where cameras are present. Existing panels are taken over where the hardware allows. See alarm systems.

Installation for Every Kind of Property

We install in homes, apartments and multifamily communities, gated neighborhoods, churches, schools and childcare centers, warehouses and manufacturing plants, retail and restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, government buildings, construction sites, and storage facilities across the Tulsa metro. Each has its own blind spots, and the industries pages cover them one at a time. The service area runs from Tulsa out to Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, Owasso, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Catoosa, and Glenpool; the service areas hub has a page for each city.

Two situations deserve their own mention. If you already have a system, the walk includes testing every camera and run, because a dark system is usually a recorder or a cable rather than the cameras, and the service and repair page explains what that fix looks like. If another company installed it and stopped answering, the system takeover page explains how we pick it up.

What It Costs, and Why We Will Not Guess

No honest installer can price a system from a phone call, because the number depends on how many positions the property needs, how far the cable has to run, whether the building has a path for it, what the cameras have to prove at night, and how many days of footage you need to keep. That is why the walk is free and the quote is a drawing. The cost page walks through what pushes a quote up or down so you can read ours with no surprises.

Payment is by check or major credit card, half on acceptance and the balance within thirty days of completion. Equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty and our work is warranted as set out in the terms of sale and service. Nothing on this page is a quote; the binding document is the written quote issued after the walk.

Questions

Installation Questions

A site walk, a camera map, the cameras or readers and the recorder or controller, the cable runs, mounting, configuration, mobile access set up on your phone, and a walkthrough of how to find and export footage. The written quote lists every item against the map.

A basic home system is usually finished in a few hours. A commercial site with several buildings, long cable runs, or access control on many doors can take a day or more. We schedule around your hours and tell you the plan before we start.

Not much. Knowing which areas you want covered and who needs access to which doors is helpful, and clearing a path to the spot where the recorder will live saves time. The technician handles the rest.

Often, yes. We install customer-supplied cameras when they are compatible and in good condition, and we say so if they are not. The site walk sorts that out before anyone is on a ladder.

Yes. Tulsa Surveillance Technologies holds Oklahoma Alarm License No. AC440731 and carries liability insurance, which schools, property managers, and facility teams can verify before work begins.
