Alarm Systems in Tulsa
An Alert You Can Act On, Not a Beep You Ignore
An alarm system detects an intrusion and tells someone in time to do something about it. Tulsa Surveillance Technologies installs alarm systems across the Tulsa metro on Qolsys and ELK panels, with door and window contacts, motion detectors, and glass break sensors sized to the building, and with alerts routed to the right person rather than to a list nobody reads.
Where cameras are part of the system, and they usually are, the alert carries video. A notification that says the back door opened at 2:14 AM is a worry; one that shows the back door opening at 2:14 AM is a decision. That is the difference between an alarm as a deterrent and an alarm as a tool, and it is why we design alarms, cameras, and access control together on the same walk.
Sized to the Building
Sensors Where They Count
Every opening gets a contact, rooms with valuables get motion, and glass break sensors cover the storefront. Zones are named so the alert tells you which door, not just that a door opened.
- Door, window, motion, and glass break
- Alerts routed to the right person
- Video attached to the alert where cameras exist
- Existing panel takeovers where possible
The Panels We Stand Behind
Qolsys
Qolsys makes alarm panels known for keeping security simple and effective. The touchscreen panel is easy to understand, it pairs with cameras and smart locks, and it suits homes and small businesses that want reliable protection without a manual. It is the panel we reach for first on a residential job.
ELK Products
ELK builds systems that let homeowners and businesses protect a property and tie security into the rest of the building. ELK panels are reliable and versatile, with a wide range of features, which makes them the choice for larger properties, integrations with access control and cameras, and sites with unusual layouts.
How We Design an Alarm
The walk decides the zones. Every exterior door and reachable window gets a contact. Rooms with cash, inventory, medication, or equipment get a motion detector placed where a person has to cross it. A storefront or a glass office front gets a glass break sensor. The panel goes where it can be reached on the way in and out, and the zones are named plainly so an alert reads “warehouse dock door” rather than “zone 7”.
Alerts are routed deliberately: to the owner first, to a manager second, and, where the property is a fit, to live video monitoring through a platform such as CHeKT so a verified intrusion reaches a trained operator who can issue a warning or dispatch police. We walk through the arming schedule and the false alarm settings so the system fits how the building is really used. If you already have a panel, we take it over where the hardware allows and replace only what has to change; see system takeovers.
Alarms for Homes and for Businesses
A home alarm is contacts on the doors and reachable windows, a motion detector where a burglar has to cross, a Qolsys panel by the garage door, and the app on your phone, usually installed in a morning alongside the cameras. A business alarm is the same idea at a larger scale: every exterior door, glass break on a storefront, motion in the cash office and the stock room, an ELK or Qolsys panel with a keypad at each entrance staff use, and an arming schedule that matches the hours the building is actually empty.
Both get video attached to the alert where cameras exist and both are tested with you before the crew leaves, so you know what a real alert looks like on your phone before the first one arrives at 2 AM. The home security page and the commercial page cover each setting.
Questions
Alarm Questions
Which alarm panels do you install?
Qolsys and ELK Products. Qolsys panels are simple to use and work well for homes and small businesses; ELK systems are versatile and suit larger properties and integrations. Existing panels are taken over where the hardware allows.
Will the alarm send video?
Where cameras are installed, yes. An alert that arrives with a clip of the door that opened is one you can act on; a beep from a panel is one you learn to ignore.
Do I need an alarm permit in Tulsa?
Cities in the metro, including Tulsa, register alarm users and can fine for repeated false alarms. We tell you on the walk whether your system needs a permit and how the alerts are routed to avoid false dispatches.
