Church Surveillance and Access Control in Tulsa

Sanctuary, children’s wing, and parking lot coverage that fits a real budget.

Open on Sunday, Secure on Tuesday Night

A church has to be welcoming to a stranger on Sunday morning and locked tight on a Tuesday night when the building is dark and the sound equipment, the instruments, and the office records are inside. A surveillance and access control system built for a church does both: cameras cover the parking lot, the entrances, and the children’s wing, and access control lets volunteers into the rooms they serve in without handing out keys that never come back. Tulsa Surveillance Technologies designs those systems for churches and nonprofits across the Tulsa metro.

The reasons are practical. Churches own valuable equipment and hold personal information about members, which makes them a target. Accidents happen on church property and footage limits liability. Parents in the children’s ministry expect controlled entry. And a congregation deserves to feel as safe in the sanctuary as at home.

On the Camera Map

What a Church Camera Map Covers

Parking lots and drop-off lanes, every exterior door, the lobby and welcome area, hallways to the children’s wing, the office and the sound booth, and the storage rooms where the equipment lives. Not the sanctuary seating, unless the leadership asks for it.

  • Children’s check-in and hallway coverage
  • Access control on the office and equipment rooms
  • Parking lot cameras for evenings and events
  • Volunteer credentials instead of keys

Access Control for Volunteers

A church runs on volunteers, and volunteers rotate. Keys handed out in 2019 are still out there. Access control replaces them with a fob or a phone credential that the office activates for the season and deactivates when the volunteer steps down, with schedules so the children’s wing is open during services and locked otherwise, and a log of who entered the office or the sound booth. A lockdown button at the welcome desk secures every door in an emergency. The access control page explains the platforms.

Cameras round it out. A children’s check-in area with a camera on the hallway gives parents and staff a record of every pickup. Parking lot coverage protects cars during a Wednesday night service when the lot is dark. An office camera protects the records and the people who handle the offering.

A Budget and a Phased Plan

Churches rarely buy a whole system at once, and they do not have to. The camera map shows every position the building needs and the quote can be phased: the children’s wing and the office this year, the parking lot and the gym next year, with a recorder sized for all of it from the start so nothing is thrown away. Equipment is chosen for the position and the budget rather than the brand; a church lobby does not need the same camera as a bank. The camera installation page explains how a system goes together.

If the church already has cameras, often donated or installed by a member years ago, the walk tests every one of them and keeps what works. We serve congregations throughout Tulsa and in Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, Bixby, and Sand Springs.

Questions

Churches and Nonprofits Questions

Many churches cover the platform and the exits for safety and liability and leave the seating alone. It is a leadership decision and we design to whichever answer you give.

Yes. Mobile access is set up for the people the church names, each with their own login.

Often. A safety team usually wants a monitor in the welcome area and a radio-friendly layout, and we design the viewing station for that.
